The Man Who Drank The Universe, is a hypnotic journey through an old ceremony which is guided by heartwarming fragmented melodies carrying an exclusive message while on a direct journey to your base chakra.
Stepping Into Fire, as the B-Side, involves a cosmic flavour, cosily vibrating through your head. Enjoy smiling faces as the song reverberates through your bones.
“The Man Who Drank The Universe”, the title track on this short EP for new imprint Metenoia, is arguably one of his strongest cuts to date. Thanks to some atmospheric, emotion-rich piano work, bittersweet electronics, and a slowly expanding build-up (based around atmospheric jazz percussion hits), it feels particularly evocative. Yet it’s also rather floor-friendly, with thickset synth bass and shuffling deep house rhythms. There’s a similarly mixed-up feel to virtual flipside “Stepping Into Fire”, which sits somewhere between icy deep house and glacial nu-disco.

Missed this beauty totally a few years back. All four tunes are equally stunning. "Gaia " was the opener of "Outre Atlantique", a collab I produced 2017 with Yazcine from Montreal. A must have in a well sorted fine library. Brilliant. Bawaka
